In MMA2, security of passengers and terminal users is of paramount importance. In addition to the presence of the Police, State Security Service and Aviation Security (AVSEC)  personnel of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Bi-Courtney Aviation Service Limited also deploys its own well-trained security personnel, who complement the efforts of these statutory security agencies.
They can be identified by their light blue shirt and navy blue trousers with an orange badge bearing the inscription: BASL AVSEC. Supervisors are dressed in white shirt and navy blue trousers.
Security personnel do not only man beats but also:
• Ensure that terminal users are in safe hands by reducing touting to barest minimum (zero level)
• Direct passengers to registered protocol officers

Final Departure Access Control
BASL’s AVESC personnel ensure that only persons traveling and shop owners at the final departure have access to the sterile area.
Passengers going through screening in this area are expected to show their boarding pass with a corresponding means of identification. They ensure the name on the boarding pass corresponds with the name and face of the traveler.
Bi-Courtney ensures there is orderliness in this area and ensure that travelers complete the screening procedure within the shortest possible time. Passengers are directed to the screening machine and are adequately informed about what to do. These include:
• Removal of all metallic objects, such as wrist watches, belts and keys.
• Travelers with prohibited items like knife and liquids are advised to check them in.
• Liquids above 100ml are confiscated by FAAN security

Security personnel detect and remove unwanted persons from the facility through profiling. Details are put together by appearance, conduct and interaction with the affected persons.
Manning of other Access Points to Restricted Areas
Such areas include the screening point where access is granted to the apron side. There is a checklist that must strictly enforced before access is authorized. Most importantly, everyone going through this entry must wear a reflective jacket.
Unauthorized Bag
Any bag temporary left behind either by passenger or tenant are termed unattended baggage. When such baggage are found, anti-bomb personnel are alerted to certify them safe. They are, thereafter, kept in the security office until the certified owners come to claim them.
